Build Up to Local Derby with Bridgwater

The build up begins for the much anticipated derby with Bridgwater Town at the Tannery tomorrow night 7.30pm kick off. The Cobblers are looking to extend their unbeaten start to the season against a Bridgwater team looking to rebound from their surprise defeat against Brislington on Saturday. The Cobblers are in confident mood after putting eight goals in their past 2 games and with the Tannery not short on entertainment this year more goal mouth action is expected!

Josh Wadham is still suspended but replacement Harry Foster will be looking to build on an impressive 2 goal performance on Saturday against Longwell Green. We welcome back 2 former Cobblers in the Bridgwater team from last season in defender Lee Begg and Co-manager/striker Dave Pearse. Bridgwater Town were relegated from the Southern League last season after a season to forget and had started the season brightly with wins against Keynsham Town and Willand Rovers until Saturdays 2-0 loss to Brislington.

We also welcome Dave's Diner to the tannery on Tuesday night whose taken over the catering arrangements on first team match days. The match has also been kindly sponsored by Roger Palmer & Clive Kemmish.

Wednesday night also see's a derby for the reserves who travel the short distance to Somerton Town with the early kick off of 6.30pm. The reserves kick started their season in style with 8-0 win away to Combe St Nicholas but will face a tough test against Somerton who also won comfortable 6-0 winners against Clevedon Utd reserves.
