The Cobblers get their league campaign off to a winning start.
Street got off to a flying start after 3 minutes when Craig Herrod laid a cross for Dave O'Hare control in the box and drive low into the corner. Street were well on top for most of the half with Streets Tom Punchard rarely troubled. Street doubled their lead after 37 minutes when the ever dangerous Steve Murray was brought down in the box, unlike last week he made sure and smash the penalty home to make it a 3 game scoring streak. The cobblers made the game safe just before half time when Harry Foster picked the ball up from outside the area and his low curling shot was stepped over by the advancing Murray to deceive the keeper and nestle into the bottom corner for 3-0.
Proceeding were complete on 53 minutes when some pinball action in the box saw a Craig Herrod shot cleared off the line only to land at the fee of Harry Foster who picked his spot to find the top corner for 4-0. Street kept pressing but to no further avail and run out comfortable winners against a young Longwell team who kept running until the 90 minutes was up.
MOM Harry Foster.
The games come thick and fast with Street entertaining Bridgwater Town on Tuesday 15th August 7.30pm KO, see you there.
