FA Cup Preview

Street travel to Dorset on Saturday to face Bridport in the Preliminary round of the FA Cup. Both sides needed a replay in the previous round knocking out AFC St Austell and Hallen respectively and a intriguing contest between two Western League Premier Division Sides awaits us.

In the last seven years Bridport have gone past this round just once with Street only making it through on two occasions so progression to the 1st qualifying round will be a good achievement for both sides. The two teams have only met once in the competition back in 2003 with Bridport winning 2-0.

Street are in good form coming into this game following league victory's over Longwell Green and neighbours Bridgwater Town.

Manager Rich Fey keen to continue this run of results but is expecting a tough encounter "Tomorrow will be a tough game, Bridport have already knocked out AFC ST Austell and comprehensively beaten Cadbury Heath 4-1 in the league but had a different side out in the league defeat to Willand Rovers. I'm expecting fresh faces to be available for our game tomorrow. However if we play like we have done in the last couple of games, especially our mid-week performance against Bridgwater where I thought we were excellent all over the pitch, we have a good chance but its the FA Cup and anything can happen. Squad news, Josh Wadham is suspended and Dale Hunt is still injured"

Kick off is 15:00 for those travelling to the Dorset coast. Cobbler support much appreciated!
