Wells vs Street Preview

A derby game to look forward to as table toppers Street make the short journey over to Wells and hopefully kick start their season, after weeks of bad weather and postponed games. Its a familiar tale across the Western League with the fixture secretary working overtime to re-arrange a host of cancellations.

Wells are a team in transition and with have ex-cobbler Nathan Truckle in charge are likely to be a tough nut to crack for the Cobblers despite them being opposite ends of the table. Steve Murray scored two as Street were convincing 4-0 winners back in September and they will be hoping for more of the same on Saturday in a derby that's had plenty of goal mouth action and talking points over the years.

Street's have only played one game in the last month that being a 2-0 win over Hallen at the Tannery Ground and manager Rich Fey feels his team may be lacking match sharpness "We are really looking forward to getting back on the pitch. We have not played once since the 23rd of December so we are going to be a bit rusty. A large following is expected to make the journey over to Wells which will be excellent for the boys. Last night we had 4/5 missing at training due to flu so we are potentially down to a thread bare squad but of course we will have a go in what will be a difficult pitch to play on"

Weather permitting kick off in Wells is 15:00 hope to see many Cobbler fans in attendance!
