The weather has played havoc with the Western League programme in recent weeks with the Cobblers especially hit hard having only played once throughout the whole of January. We try again this Saturday as we welcome Bitton to the Tannery Ground as Street look to strengthen their position at the top of the table.
In the reverse fixture back in September a Dave O'Hare hat-trick helped Street to a 4-0 win which was the second game into a terrific 15 match winning run. Bitton are currently 9th in the table and are in decent form going into this fixture, unbeaten in 5 games and secured a 2-2 draw with 3rd place Melksham Town in their last Western League outing.
Manager Rich Fey is keen to get back playing after a lack of games in recent weeks "Fingers crossed we get to play tomorrow. It’s been really frustrating having only played once since 23rd December (won 2-0 vs Hallen) due to the weather but the boys attitudes have been brilliant and we’ve been ticking over well in training. We hopefully have a fully fit squad to choose from for the first time in a while and with so many home games left to play we’re looking forward to getting back to playing at the Tannery"
Hoping for a big crowd in what should be a an excellent contest between two very attack minded sides. Kick off is 15:00 and the Bar is open from 14:00, please come and show your support for the team as they look for another big 3 points.
Up The Cobbs!
