Street vs Shepton Mallet Preview

Derby day this Saturday as we welcome neighbours Shepton Mallet to the Tannery Ground, a fixture that traditionally throws up plenty of action and drama! The games are coming thick and fast for the Cobblers and are well into the business end of the season with only 11 games left to play in what will be a busy 6 weeks.

Top scorer Steve Murray hit a brilliant double as Street recorded a 2-0 win in the reverse fixture back in November. Street's run of form since then has been well documented but Shepton themselves are having a very competitive season and currently sit in 8th place in the Western League Premier Division and have plenty to play for with a top 6 finish in sight.

Its all set up for a terrific game one that manager Rich Fey is looking forward to "we had a excellent but hard win in the week vs 2nd place Willand Rovers which was our 3rd game in 6 days. Saturday is a local derby and will be no different especially with ex cobblers in their side but we’re on a great run of 19 wins and hopefully we can keep this run going. We have Matt Hurley suspended and a couple unavailable but this is where the squad will be used"

Remember its free entry for the ladies, come and get behind the Cobblers in what promises to be a great game. Bar and turnstiles open from 13:30. kick off is 15:00, UP THE COBBS!
