Southern League Football comes to Mid-Somerset!
A momentous occasion takes place this Saturday at 3pm as the Cobblers play their first ever Evo-Stik Southern League game as we welcome Fleet Town to the Tannery ground. Last seasons Western League champions won the league by 15 points and will be looking to take that form and get off to a winning start in the new campaign.
Manager Richard Fey "I'm really looking forward to this historic and memorable day for the town, club, players and supporters! We have had a very long preseason and this week it's now starting to feel real again. We have a great bunch of lads and on Saturday I hope we put on a show that makes everyone proud in what will be the first Southern League football game the club has ever had. I really hope the village comes out and supports us and help us get off to a good start".
Our Hampshire opponents are an established Southern league outfit who have been playing at this level consecutively for 16 years. Last year saw them finish 14th in the Division 1 Central and then get transferred over the summer to the Division 1 South.
