Street face tough away trip
It’s back to Southern League action this Saturday as Street make the trip to Berkshire to face last seasons FA Vase winners Thatcham Town.
Like Street, Thatcham Town are new to this level and are currently 9th in what is a very condensed league table and are arguably one of the form teams going into this game having beat the much fancied Evesham and Bristol Manor Farm in their last two games. Street currently sit in 4th place following a 4-1 win at home to Bideford last time out and are so far exceeding expectations in what is a very competitive division.
Following the Cobblers League Cup exit in mid week manager Rich Fey will be pleased to welcome back some of his squad for Saturday’s game “Another away game against a tough side. Only few months ago I watched them win the FA Vase so we know there a very good outfit. They have had some great results of late and signed some very good players but we're going to concentrate on ourselves and hopefully get a result. We gave a lot of players a rest on Tuesday cup game and because of that we have a clean bill of health with just Steve Murray a couple of weeks away. We haven't had this many players available for a while so it's nice to select from a near full squad. Ed Butcher returns from holiday having missed the FA Trophy win and Ross McErlain and Lewis Tasker return from suspensions. Tom Punchard, Adian Chainey & Dave O'Hare all return from injury whilst Phil Ormrod having been rested midweek is also back in"
Still a few coach spaces left for the trip, contact Clive Kemmish on 07958662006 if you would like to go. Coach leaving the Tannery Ground at 11am.
Up The Cobbs!
