Street play their final game of a roller coaster 2018 with an away trip to Fleet Town on Saturday. Fleet were the opponents when Street played their first ever Southern League game back in August with the Cobblers running out 3-0 winners thanks to goals from Steve Murray, Craig Herrod and Ben Amghar.
Despite their lowly league position Fleet have remained competitive in recent times and are giving themselves a fighting chance climbing the table with some encouraging performances. Street themselves are on a good run and confidence in the camp will be high after a terrific Boxing Day win away at Paulton Rovers.
Manager Rich Fey is happy with the teams progress “Games like Saturday are always tough as Fleet are fighting to stay up and have only lost by the odd goal in recent games. We need to worry about ourselves, prepare properly and perform like we have done lately and we will come away with something. The objective at the club at start of season was to get to 30 points ASAP so we need 2 more points to give the club another season of Southern League Football which if I told you that 3 years ago when we took over people would have laughed so the sooner we do that the better!“
A great following going to Fleet tomorrow but still a few spaces left so if you would like to go, the coach is leaving the Tannery Ground at 10:45. Please contact our trusty transport organiser Clive Kemmish on 07958662006 to reserve your spot!
