Street hit the road on Saturday to play Highworth Town in a Evo-Stik South div 1 South fixture. The season is very much alive for both teams and an exciting 2-2 draw between the two sides back in September makes for an interesting match up this time around.
Highworth have hit the goal trail recently scoring 8 in their last two games which resulted in victories over Fleet and Slimbridge. Like Street, the Wiltshire based side were promoted to the league last season and are certainly holding their own in a league where all teams are capable of pulling off a result on their day.
Street are coming into the game off the back of two defeats and were soundly beaten by an impressive Larkhall Athletic side at the Tannery last Saturday. Before that game Street were putting in some very good performances and confidence from within the camp remains high and supporters are hopeful the Cobblers can kick on again and have been boosted by a new signing this week.
Manager Rich Fey "This game couldn’t have come quick enough after last weeks defeat to Larkhall. I thought Larkhall were outstanding on the day and fully deserved the win. They have two forwards that would and should be playing higher but the same goes to Highworth who have excellent forwards so we need a much better performance than last week to get something. New signing from Yate Town George King comes into the squad but Phil Ormrod misses out again"
Spaces left on the coach, leaving at 11 from the Tannery Ground. Contact Clive Kemmish on 07958662006 to book your spot.
