Southern League action this Saturday as we welcome Blackfield & Langley to the Tannery Ground. The assignment doesn't come much tougher for Rich Fey's men with the visitors from Hampshire currently having a brilliant season and top the table, 3 points clear of Yate Town. In the reverse fixture back in November Street were narrowly defeated, Jamie Short on the score sheet for the Cobblers that day.
Before last Saturdays surprise reverse away at Cinderford Town, Blackfield and Langley were in fine form picking up 22 points from a possible 24. They will be hoping to return to wining ways and continue their quest to finish in top spot come and be crowed champions..
Street were comfortably beaten away at Winchester last Saturday, an uncharacteristic showing from the Cobblers who have put in a series of very consistent performances over the course of season. Manager Rich Fey is keen to keep his young team on track "Tomorrow we face top of the league. We’re on the back of a big loss last week and a wake up call! We have a young squad and last Saturday a back four and keeper under the age of 21 bar Leigh Bailey which is great for the future of the club but they need to learn quickly to establish themselves at Southern League level. They all got my backing and I got every confidence to show me it was a one off and no better than to prove against top of the league tomorrow"
Kick off is at 3pm, bar/turnstiles open from 130 pm. Support as always greatly appreciated, UP THE COBBS!
