A great game in prospect on Saturday as we welcome 3rd place and title chasing Moneyfields to the Tannery Ground. In the reverse fixture back in January a stunning free kick by Dave O'Hare and a late Ross McErlain header earned Street a well deserved point and despite not winning the game it was one of the Cobblers most impressive performances of the season.
Moneyfields are having a great campaign which included an 18 match unbeaten run between September and January and in Stephen Hutchings boast one of the league's top scorers in their ranks. Recent wins over Highworth and Bideford has seem them move to only 4 points off top spot.
Street responded brilliantly to the defeat at Winchester by taking a point off first place Blackfield and Langley which kept the Cobblers on course for a top 10 finish. Manager Rich Fey "I’m really looking forward to tomorrow's match up with Moneyfields who are having a excellent season. If we can perform like the last game (Blackfield 0-0) we will give them a good game. We have two or three missing but I’m trying to get a couple in before the deadline. The boys were in good spirits last night at training and look forward to the game"
One of those players Fey has managed to get in is a familiar face as we welcome Lewis Tasker back "I wanted to strengthen the squad due to injuries and unavailability and 'Task' knows all the club after the success he's helped us achieve"
We are pleased to have Max Chapman and Oliver Wonnacott as mascots for the game, both lads play for Bishops Lydeard under 9's. Bar and turnstiles open from 13:30 and kick off is at 15:00. Come and get behind the boys!
REMINDER: Supporters Forum in the bar after the game starting at 6pm!
