A great game in prospect Saturday as we welcome Melksham Town to the Tannery ground. Games between the two sides over the last few seasons have been full of goals, talking points and superb attack play. The reverse fixture was no different as Melksham ran out 5-3 winners back in November with excellent strikes from Jamie Short, Craig Herrod and Lewis Waldy not enough on the day for the Cobblers.
Recent defeats to Cinderford Town and AFC Totton has seen the Wiltshire club slip out of play off contention for the time being but will be looking to finish the season on a high. Despite mixed results of late on their day they have been a match for any team in the division this season.
Street responded brilliantly last week with a very good performance away at Bristol Manor Farm coming away with a point thanks to Harry Foster's second half equaliser. Street's recent troubles have been well documented but manager Rich Fey is trying to remain positive in difficult circumstances "The past 10 days have been tough and I’ve learnt a great deal. But we have another tough game tomorrow against our old rivals Melksham and it’s a chance at home to keep entertaining the supporters. Melksham beat us 5-3 in the away so it’s going to be a hard game as we know what ever team is put out, they can score goals. We’re missing a few regulars but we will be competitive and will give it a go"
Support for the club especially Rich, Nath, and the players will be much appreciated.
Clubhouse and turnstiles open from 13:30 and kick off is 3pm
Big thank you to Steve Bagg for sponsoring the game.
