As you will be aware following the government announcement yesterday the FA has suspended all grassroots football for the foreseeable future. At this time, we have no idea when this suspension will be lifted, and it is club policy to follow government advice and take note of what experts tell us. The health and wellbeing of our entire community is a priority.
At the moment no decisions have been taken by the FA regarding whether or not this represents the end of the season or what this means for league positions including promotion and relegation. It is our hope that the FA will make a ruling that applies constantly across England, but this is not expected for a few weeks yet. Whilst people will have their own opinions on what should be done, it should be remembered that this is an unprecedented emergency and irrespective of our individual views, the future will be decided ’top down’ by the FA. We do know however that the Western League is providing local feedback to the FA to inform any decision and the club remains close to the three leagues in which our senior teams play, and any updates will be published here.
Meanwhile work is already underway to ensure the survival and future sustainability of our club house business and again, this is informed by government advice and directives. We will keep everyone informed as we work through these difficult times.
