Chairmans Statement

Statement from Clive Cabble, Club Chairman

In recent weeks allegations have been made against our club claiming that we condone racist and discriminatory behaviour. These allegations are being made by an individual engaged in an historic private dispute involving another party previously connected with the club. I wish to make it clear that these allegations have nothing whatsoever to do with the football club and pre-date my involvement and that of the present committee. Our investigations find the allegations to be both vexatious and lacking in substance and merit. In the interests of transparency, we have brought the matter to the attention of the Somerset FA who are supportive of our handling of it.

The club embraces all anti-racism policies and legislation. These are embedded in our day to day activities and are evident in the diverse make-up of our teams.

I am taking positive action to ensure the club’s reputation is not damaged by this malicious slur. Supporters, sponsors and suppliers have my personal assurance that everyone at the club abhors all forms of racism and discrimination.
