CADBURY HEATH MATCH REPORT

Toolstation Western League Premier Division

Wednesday 30th September

CADBURY HEATH 1, STREET 3

Street’s management team, Nik Andrew, Jason Behan and Russell Fahy, must have been pleased with the way the opening exchanges went as their young charges began the game with real intent.

It took them just four minutes to take the lead as a lofted cross from the right was headed into the bottom corner of the net by Jakob Dickens for his second goal of the season.

The good start continued for the visitors as they doubled their advantage five minutes later when striker Leighton Thomas got his third goal in three games with an easy finish following good work once again by Dickens.

Street’s good start became a terrific start as a high ball into the box after 18 minutes was dropped by Heathens’ keeper Ollie Jones and Young striker Kyle Strange was on hand to find the net with another tap-in.

The game then levelled out a bit as the home side regrouped and the score remained at 3-0 to the visitors until half-time.

The game was still an even affair during the opening passages of the second period before the hosts pulled one back just past the hour mark.

A long ball by Toby Rennie found Jake Thomas on the right who cut in and fired a great strike past Street keeper Liam Norris into the far side of the net from 20 yards.

But that was as good as it got for the home side as the visitors easily held out for the win that maintained their good start to the season and they remain second in the table behind still unbeaten title favourites Plymouth Parkway.

Attendance: 88.
